The story is from “Ephesian Tales” by the Greek author Xenophon of Ephesus. Habrocomes, a young man who boasted that he was indifferent to the power of love, met the fair Anthia during a procession in the famous temple of the goddess Artemis in Ephesus. They were abducted by pirates, separated, and had many adventures. In the end, they were reunited and happily wed.
