Sabrina, Goddess of the Severn by Peter Hollins . 1846. Shrewsbury Quarry Park, Shropshire, England.

The inscription at the base of the statue is from a poem by John Milton:

“Sabrina fair, listen where thou art sitting
under the glassie, cool, translucent wave,
in twisted braids of lilies knitting
the loose train of thy amber-dropping hair;
listen for dear honour’s sake,
goddess of the silver lake, listen and save!”
