The figures around Aesculapius are Aristotle, Hippocrates, Herophilus, and Erasistratus. Two other domes, one on each side of Aesculapius, depict 

Aesculapius’ sons, Podalirius and Machaon, and are bordered by allegorical figures representing the emotional and practical qualities needed to care for and heal the sick.
