The religious sanctuary at Claros in Ionia (central coastal Anatolia) was dedicated to a temple and oracle of Apollo, locally revered as Apollo Clarius.

These monumental statues of Leto, Apollo, and Artemis, were discovered by archaeologists during excavations at Claros between 1950-1961. The statue of Apollo, centre, was originally 7-8 meters high, and his legs were 3.5 meters long.

Today, you are invited to join with people all around the world in making a libation to Apollo. In this way, whatever else we do to celebrate Hellenic occasions, we are united in doing the same action on the same day.
