Today is World Oceans Day!

PLASTIC TRASH IS CHOKING OUR OCEAN, AND 80% OF IT COMES FROM LAND. WE CAN DO BETTER!

Sign the Better Bag Challenge:

– Stop using disposable plastic bags. When plastic bags breakdown, the toxic chemicals they contain are released into the environment. Many of these subsrances disrupt the endocrine system, which has resulted in findings like male fish with female sex organs. The plastic blocks the digestive tracts of sea tutles, so that food that is trapped and releases gases that make them too buoyant to dive for food.

– Choose cosmetics and personal care products, like face washes, that are free of microbeads. Microbeads are little pieces of plastic that are particularly harmful to the ocean and its animals.

– Always recycle disposable bottles, and take a pass on plastic utensils and wrappers, as these items often end up as trash in our ocean.
